Flavor supplier and manufacturer for Vietnam

A Vietnamese shopper knows at the first sip whether a cà phê sữa đá tastes right. VKA® has created flavors for food and beverage brands across Asia since 1971. We supply Vietnam from our flavor house in Singapore.

Flavor, color and texture, made to work together

Vietnamese food balances fresh against rich, herbs against broth. Holding that balance in a packaged product takes flavor, color and texture designed as one, so we supply all three and test them in your product.

Custom flavor development

Sterilized milk drinks and instant noodle seasonings put a flavor through severe heat. A flavorist builds your profile, application technologists test it under your process conditions, and a sensory panel checks it against your brief before production.

Taste technologies and reduction

Taking out sugar, salt or fat leaves gaps in taste and mouthfeel. Our reduction systems help close them, and EssenceLock encapsulation, FreshSeal vacuum-sealed powders and TasteGuard preservation keep the taste stable through processing and storage.

Solutions by application

A coffee drink, a savory snack and a seasoning each give a flavor a different job, so our application work starts from how each one is made and eaten.

Halal flavors for products sold in Vietnam, certified by MUIS and BPJPH

Our Singapore manufacturing site holds FSSC 22000 certification. VKA is MUIS and BPJPH halal-certified. In Vietnam, halal certification is voluntary unless a legal document issued by a Vietnamese sector ministry requires it for specific products or services (Decree 127/2026/ND-CP, Article 10(1)-(2)). We build toward halal from the first sample, whether or not your product needs certification.

Self-declaration and additive labeling

Bring the intended use and proposed label into the brief. Your compliance team can review the flavor documents against these provisions and confirm the route for the specific product.

As of October 2026, Decree 15/2018/ND-CP remains in effect while Decree 46/2026/ND-CP is suspended by Resolution 15/2026/NQ-CP, Articles 1-2, until the revised Food Safety Law and its guiding decree take effect.

Law on Food Safety 55/2010/QH12, Article 17, sets additive safety conditions covering technical regulations, Vietnamese-language use instructions on the label or documents accompanying each product unit, the Ministry of Health permitted list, and registration of a conformity declaration before marketing.

Decree 15/2018/ND-CP, Article 4(1), places food additives in the self-declaration regime except products covered by Article 4(2) and Article 6.

State inspection of imported food additives

Every commercial shipment starts with an importer and an intended use. Settle both, then review the documents with the importer so the product description, application and label agree.

Law on Food Safety 55/2010/QH12, Article 39(1), requires state food-safety inspection of imported food additives, subject to the exclusions from inspection prescribed by the Government.

From the drink in hand to the snack in the bag

Our flavors go into beverages, dairy, bakery, confectionery, savory and snacks, in natural, nature-identical and artificial forms, with the colors and taste technologies that finish the product.

The documents that travel with your sample

Your importer and your QA team will both ask for paperwork. We can send the documents they need for that approval with each sample.

  • specification and safety data sheets
  • certificates of analysis
  • allergen and composition statements
  • halal scope documents
  • our FSSC 22000 certificate
  • a certificate of free sale where your importer asks for one

Working with VKA in Vietnam

Does VKA supply flavors to Vietnam?

Yes. Vietnam is one of the markets we supply from Singapore, where our flavorists create the profile and our application lab tests it in your product.

Can you develop a natural flavor for our product?

Yes. We supply natural flavors and develop custom profiles for food and beverage applications. If your pack needs to say natural, put that in the brief, so the profile and its composition documents are built for it from the start.

Can you create a custom flavor around our recipe?

Yes. Send us your recipe and process, and a flavorist builds the profile around them. Our application lab tests it in your product and our sensory panel judges it against your brief before production.

Do food additives follow self-declaration in Vietnam?

Decree 15/2018/ND-CP, Article 4(1), places food additives within self-declaration, except products covered by Article 4(2) and Article 6. Review the specific product and intended use with your importing company before choosing the declaration route.

Is halal certification mandatory in Vietnam?

Not in general. Decree 127/2026/ND-CP, Article 10(1)-(2), makes halal certification voluntary unless a legal document issued by a Vietnamese sector ministry requires it for specific products or services. VKA is MUIS and BPJPH halal-certified.

Which categories and formats can we evaluate?

Beverages, dairy, bakery, confectionery, savory and snacks, in liquid, powder and emulsion formats. We pick the format for your process: how much heat it sees, how the flavor needs to disperse and how long the product must keep.

Send us a brief and we will send a sample

Describe the product and how it should taste, and a flavorist will build the first sample.
