Capabilities

Judged in the
Finished Product

A flavour that reads beautifully on a smelling strip can fall apart in a retort, a hot fill or a six-month shelf life. We build and taste yours in the real product before it reaches your line.

Why It Matters

The Blotter Is Not
The Product

Heat, pH, fat content, shear, packaging and time all change what a flavour does. A citrus that sings in water can turn thin and soapy at pH 3.2. A vanilla that carries a custard beautifully can bake out of a biscuit entirely.

That gap between the bench and the batch is where most projects lose weeks. So we close it early: every VKA® flavour is built alongside a working prototype of your actual product, made the way your plant will make it.

Our application kitchens and pilot equipment sit in the same Singapore building as the creation labs. A flavourist can adjust a profile and taste it back in the finished matrix the same afternoon, not the following month.

How We Work

Built With the
Product, Not for It

Application work is the difference between a flavour that samples well and a flavour that ships.

01

Prototyping in Your Matrix

We make the product, not an approximation of it. Your base, your fat and sugar levels, your acidity, your process. The flavour is judged in that context from the first iteration, so what you approve is what you can actually produce.

02

Process Simulation

Retort, UHT, hot fill, baking, extrusion, spray drying and frying each punish a flavour differently. We put candidate profiles through the thermal and mechanical conditions your line will apply and select for what survives them.

03

Shelf-Life and Stability

A flavour has to hold for the life of the pack. We track profiles through accelerated and real-time storage in your intended packaging, watching for the drift, scalping and off-note development that only show up over time.

04

Scale-Up Support

Bench quantities behave differently from tonnes. Our pilot plant bridges the two, and our technologists work with your production team on dosing, addition points and handling so the first full batch matches the sample you signed off.

Stability

Held at temperature, tasted on schedule

A flavour that performs on the day it is made proves very little. Samples sit in environmental chambers at set temperature and humidity, and are pulled and tasted on a schedule against the day-one reference. That is the evidence behind a shelf-life statement, and it is how EssenceLock, FreshSeal and TasteGuard are validated.
